Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s biography Finding Freedom has claimed the Royal Family were partly to blame for the couple’s decision to step away from royal life. However, during a discussion on the book’s release on Good Morning Britain, it was revealed one of the book’s authors Omid Scobie believes the Royal Family failed to take advantage of a “genuine chance” of reform.
Finding Freedom, written by Carolyn Durand and Omid, has made some pretty bold claims on the reasons behind the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s move away from royal life.
Correspondent, Louisa James said: “Well I think the big problem for Harry and Meghan in terms of wanting to use this book to put their side of the story across is the timing of it. The fact it’s come out during a global pandemic.
“But it is interesting that one of the book’s authors Omid Scobie has said today, ‘When history looks back at this moment.
“It will see it as a time the Royal family really had a genuine chance for some diversity and inclusivity but they couldn’t manage to make it work.'”
