It was released on April 6, as the first single and only new track on his compilation album Greatest Hits II. Chesney wrote this song with Brett James. Matt Bjorke of Roughstock gave the song a favorable review. He said that the song had a more traditionally country sound, as it did not include the "amped up guitars" that Chesney's previous summer-themed songs had. Coyne of Country Universe gave the song a B grade, also saying that it had a more traditional production. Karlie Justus of Engine gave it a "thumbs-down" rating, saying that Chesney's vocal interpretation was "bland" and that the lyrics lacked the humor necessary to make the song work. The music video was directed by Shaun Silva , and it premiered on May 1,

A bold move for any group, risking quantity over quality, the sixth record in their catalogue sees the group grow into their more experimental tendencies. Jumping into bouncing riffs and restrained muted keys with conviction, the track straddles between experimentation and streamlined pop-rock with impressive results. Whilst the structures of the cuts on offer here may be simple, Our Last Night are at their strongest when working around a solid hook. Boasting a stop start-chorus and a cinematic guitar lead, it keeps adding and removing techniques to its foundations to keep interest.
The band is known for its post-hardcore and alternative metal renditions of popular pop songs. They were still in high school and even then they were attracting more young audiences in New England. They were replaced by brothers Nick Perricone on guitar and Joey Perricone on drums. In early , the group signed with Epitaph Records. The day before they embarked on their first tour, Trevor was only 13 years old. On March 23, the band changed their Myspace layout to reveal the album cover, and "Elephants", the first track on their upcoming album. On April 23, they released the music video for "Elephants" on Myspace and different sites. On February 1, they traveled to Tokyo for a co-headlining tour of Japan.
